Review: We-Vibe Tango & Touch

pennysblog_2touchandtango

Let’s cut to the chase: vibrators like the We-Vibe Tango and Touch make me thank goddess I have a clitoris.

If you’ve ever visited one of the big sex toy mega-stores, you know there is no shortage of vibrator options. The problem is that a lot of them are crap. Many are made of unsafe materials, and even the ones that are safe are often badly designed, or are too weak, or too buzzy.

If you’re not familiar with vibration types, “buzzy” vibration feels like a tickle–it’s also described as “surface level,” because it only stimulates the surface area where you put it. I can sometimes orgasm from buzzy vibrations, but the orgasms usually feel weak and unsatisfying.1 Rumbly vibrations on the other hand, travel further and deeper. So if you’re using a vibrator clitorally, a buzzy vibrator only stimulates the clitoral glans, or wherever you put it, whereas a rumbly vibrator will stimulate wherever you put it, as well as the deeper, inner clitoris. This translates to stronger, more satisfying orgasms.

Enter the We-Vibe Tango & Touch. The Tango is made of hard plastic and features a straight, “bullet,” lipstick-like design, with an angled tip, and the Touch is made of silky matte silicone, with a broader design that features a cup-like tip to cover the clit. The reason I’m reviewing them together is because although they have different designs, they feature the same motor.

And let’s talk about that motor–because it’s what makes these vibes so unique, and so amazing. It’s strong. Miraculously strong. Perhaps more importantly, it’s also super rumbly. Like, mini earthquakes rumbly. And strong, rumbly vibration=incredibly strong, intense orgasms. To whoever created that motor–you are a hero!

pennysblog_tango

Since it’s smaller and made of hard plastic, the Tango is the stronger vibrator of the two. It’s so strong that I can use it over panties, and it’s also one of the only vibrators that can make me come without direct clitoral contact, its rumbly vibration awakening my inner clit. I am often greedy about my orgasms though, so I use it directly too, and I can come in record time. Like, Hitachi or Eroscillator fast…except it’s much smaller, and not a plug-in! The Tango’s angled tip is great for pinpoint stimulation, but you can also use its body for a little more surface area.

The Tango is so strong that one time while I was using it with Jake, I came almost the entire time we were having sex, and my vag got so tight from constant squeezing that Jake legit had a hard time staying inside of me. He had to thrust super hard to keep my vag from pushing him out. It’s also so fabulous that I’ve actually dreamed about masturbating with it. No one else was with me in my dream, nothing particularly interesting was happening…I was just using the Tango on my clit. It’s quite literally the stuff dreams are made of.

The Tango is also really versatile since it’s the same size as standard bullets, so you can use it to replace the generic bullets that come with a lot of vibrating dildos/butt plugs.

pennysblog_touch

Since the Touch is broader and its vibrations have to travel through silicone, they’re dampened a little and not quite as strong as the Tango–but don’t get me wrong, they’re still strong. The Touch also offers more surface area, which I like, and it’s concave area is great for cupping my clit, surrounding it with vibration. During sex with a partner, I usually prefer using the Touch, because I don’t need vibration to be as strong during penetration, and it’s easier to hold. (And sometimes the Tango can actually be too stimulating/overwhelming for me during sex.)

Both the Tango and the Touch are powered by a single button and feature 4 steady vibration power levels as well as 4 vibration patterns. To change the vibration, you click the button, and it will cycle through the functions. If you turn off the vibe (by holding down the button for a couple of seconds) and then turn it back on, it starts on the setting you used last. I can come one the first power level using either toy…and then I can orgasm again if I keep going, moving on to the stronger levels. I don’t use it often because I usually prefer steady vibration, but I do enjoy the Wave pattern. I’m not a big fan of the other 3 though–they feel a little too robotic.

High
 =oh, fuck, yesssss!
Ultra
=OMFG I AM ONE WITH THE UNIVERSE, YES!

 =Meh.

 =An enjoyable tease.
Pulse

Cha-cha
 =No.

Not only are the Tango and Touch strong and rumbly, they’re also stealthy. A lot of vibrators claim to be whisper quiet–but in this case, they actually are. They’re I’m sleeping on a friend’s couch and want to orgasm really quickly before bed quiet. They’re come fast in the bathroom quiet. Hell, I bet they’re so quiet that you could use one in the bed next to a sleeping partner without waking them strong, though I haven’t tested that theory.

In addition to being strong, rumbly, and discreet, the Tango and Touch are also waterproof and rechargeable. They take 90 minutes to charge, and they last for up to 2 hours of use. When their batteries are running low, the power button blinks like a homing beacon, letting you know that you need to charge them ASAP. This can be somewhat annoying if they’re on your bed stand, but overall I appreciate this feature, because a Tango or Touch dying mid-use is excruciating.

So you’re probably thinking that there must be a downside to these vibes. They couldn’t be perfect, could they? They’re pretty damn close, but there are a few things. For one, the whole Tango vibrates, so your fingers do feel the vibration as well. This doesn’t happen as much with the Touch, though you still get a little bit of vibration in the handle part. I also wish the charge lasted longer. It seems that almost every day, they’re blinking, telling me to charge them again. And as I mentioned earlier, I don’t like most of the functions, but that’s not a big deal to me.

The last and worst problem, which applies to the Tango in particular, is that they can die easily. I’ve heard that We-Vibe updated their electrical boards since the first generation of Tangos to decrease the number of failed units, AKA sad, dead vibrators, which was a good move on We-Vibe’s part. My first version Tango died suddenly mid-wank one day, and to my dismay, it would never hold a charge after that. I’ve had my new Tango & Touch for 3 months now and haven’t had any problems, but I’ve heard some people still have. Still, they come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty, so if that happens within the first year, you can get it replaced quickly.

The current Tango and Touch are the second generation, and there are a few differences from the original design. I had the original Tango, but I never tried the original Touch. The most important difference is that the old Touch was also not as strong and made of a different type of silicone that attracted link and hair more easily. The Tango is pretty much the same, with a slightly longer design. They both feature an updated, less finicky charger. For a detailed description of all of the differences between the old and new versions, check out Dangerous Lilly’s reviews.

So, which should you get?

Both! Ok, but if you have to choose…

If all you care about is having the most powerful vibrations, get the Tango. If you’re willing to sacrifice a little bit of vibration strength for a vibe that’s more ergonomic, or if you prefer broader stimulation or soft toys, get the Touch. They’re both strong, quiet, waterproof, and rechargeable, so you really can’t go wrong with either though, unless you don’t like powerful, rumbly vibration.

Review: Tantus Little Secrets Spoon Vibrator

pennysblog_littlesecretsspoonEven before I tried the Little Secrets Spoon, a 3.4 inch longer bullet vibrator covered in a silicone sleeve, I began to form a grudge against it. As much as I like its refreshing orange color, and as much as I love the Tantus toys I’ve tried so far, I was immediately turned off by what was the bane of my existence for three years: tiny cell batteries.

When I worked at the sex shop, we tested all of our vibrators during checkout since we didn’t accept returns. To do this, we’d insert the batteries and cycle through the functions to make sure everything worked. Enter tiny batteries from hell.

Not only are the cell batteries that go into bullets and other toys generally annoying and often difficult to insert, they also have short lifespans. So sometimes when a vibe I tested didn’t work, it was because the cell batteries were dead, so I’d have to go get another. And another. Until finally I found one with functional batteries.

Seriously, those tiny cell batteries are what my sex toy clerk nightmares were made of.  Nightmares that featured a line of grumpy customers, all with armfuls of bullets, finger vibes, and cock rings to be tested. To make matters worse, we were supposed to tell every customer that they should take the batteries out between every use in a sad attempt to make them last a little longer.

Despite my hatred for tiny bullets and cell batteries, I still wanted to like the Little Secrets Spoon. I love Tantus, it was my first orange toy (score!) and even though it’s a cell battery operated bullet, at least it’s covered in high quality, non-porous silicone. But it wasn’t meant to be.

The second strike for the Spoon was its lack of vibration settings. I’m not a big fan of pulsations, and I don’t need a lot of functions in a vibe, but I do need at least some kind of buildup of increasing power, unless the toy’s only setting(s) are jack-hammer strength, like the Hitachi. The Spoon only has one speed, and it’s disappointing.

Which leads us to the Spoon’s ultimate failure—it couldn’t get me off. The first few times I tried it, I became irritated by its lack of settings and power and ran for another vibe. In an attempt to be fair and give the toy a proper chance to get me off, I brought it with me on an out of town trip, without packing any other vibes. I was reading Best Women’s Erotica 2014, and I was so turned on I thought I might come without even touching myself….and it still couldn’t get me off.

It was the ultimate disappointment. In the heat of the moment, without any other options, I thought the silicone was dampening the vibration and maybe if I pulled off the sleeve, it would be stronger. After struggling to yank the thing off in an act of desperation, I was disappointed to find that it wasn’t any different. My clit was so annoyed by its buzzy and eventually numbing vibrations that I didn’t even bother to finish myself off with my fingers afterwards. (Read: I didn’t even want an orgasm after using it. Seriously.)

Ruining my orgasm was strike three– you’re OUT Little Secrets Spoon.

And I almost forgot to mention that the Little Secrets Spoon is described as a “g-spotter” toy. It’s too small, not curved enough, and not shaped to be a g-spot toy. No, no, no.

I can’t in good conscience recommend the Little Secrets Spoon. Even if you don’t need a lot of strength in a vibrator, the Spoon only has one speed, and it’s little batteries are bound to annoy you, and even though it’s sheathed in lovely orange Tantus silicone, under it all it’s still just a crappy little bullet vibe. If you’re looking for a quality clitoral vibe, I suggest the Lelo Mia or We-Vibe Tango instead.

Side note: The Spoon’s silicone sleeve fits over the We-Vibe Tango and transfers its vibration well, which is its one redeeming quality (assuming you have a Tango already.)

*Thanks Tantus for sending me the Little Secrets Spoon in exchange for my honest review! To read about some Tantus toys that did wow me, check out my Adam O2, Flurry O2, & Ryder reviews.

Review: Lelo Luna Beads Noir (and some tips)

The Luna Beads Noir are a black version of Lelo’s Luna Beads, which are vaginal weights for improving PC muscle strength that is vital for arousal, orgasms, ejaculation, and overall health. They were released by Lelo in response to an increased demand for Kegel balls after Fifty Shades of Grey came out, with the intention of being more for pleasure and foreplay than just for exercise.

The first thing I did when I received my Luna Beads Noir was compare them to my originals, and I discovered that there are a few differences besides just the color.  The Luna Beads Noir come with a black silicone holster and two black ABS plastic beads (rather than 4.) They’re also slightly smaller (the same size as the Luna Beads Mini) and have the same weight (37g each) as the heavier blue beads in the original system. Other than that they have the same design and are used in the same way, for exercise or foreplay.

As far as foreplay goes, the Luna Beads don’t do much for me though. I do enjoy wearing them while we’re out in public and can feel them moving around, but it’s subtle, and they definitely won’t bring me to orgasm or make me feel super aroused on their own.

I prefer to use Luna Beads for exercise, as they’re a perfect way to multitask and knock out PC workouts while running errands or doing my normal workouts. I bought my original Luna Beads earlier this year in hopes that they would help me reach my goal of learning to ejaculate. About 2 months later, I squirted for the first time. Although I think becoming more educated about ejaculation in general was the most important part of my learning to squirt, I think my Kegel exercise routine, which consists mainly of using the Luna Beads, was also a factor. Jake has told me that he can feel a noticeable difference in my vaginal tightness when we have sex on days after I’ve used them, and I can also tell a difference in my strength now as compared to before I began using them.

I’ve tried using my Luna Beads Noir in the same way as my original ones, for exercise, and in most situations I’ve had the same experience. While wearing them out in public or during workouts, I can feel them moving subtly inside me like the originals, and they’re just as quiet. The only time I’ve noticed a difference using them is during fast moving workouts. I’ve worn them to the gym, and while they don’t fall out when I’m doing yoga or weights, they do begin to fall out pretty quickly when I’m on the elliptical or treadmill. I think this is partly due to their heavier weight, since I usually wear the lighter pink ones when doing movement intensive workouts, and partly due to their smaller size, which forces my PC muscles to work harder to keep them in. They don’t fall out instantly though (I could feel them gradually slipping), and I was able to make it to the bathroom before they fell out completely.

So, should you buy the Luna Beads Noir?

Probably not. I like the originals better. You can feel them more, and they come with the full weight system. But if you absolutely must have black kegel balls, go for it. Or If you want to save a few bucks and already have strong vaginal muscles, you could get them since they’re less expensive than the whole system and only include heavier weights.

To care for your Lelo Luna Beads Noir, wash them before and after use with antibacterial soap and warm water. The silicone holster can also be boiled or run through the dishwasher (top shelf, no soap.) For a more thorough cleaning of the beads, place them in a bowl and pour boiling water over them, letting them soak for up to five minutes. Don’t through them in a pot while boiling other toys though, as the very hot sides of the pot can melt the plastic. Since the holster is made of silicone, you should only use a water based lubricant with the Luna Beads. Like all Lelo toys, the Luna Beads Noir come with a satin storage bag, a user manual, a one year warranty, and 10 year quality guarantee.

Since many people find my blog by searching for the term “Lelo Luna Beads” or other related phrases, and I’ve had a lot of questions about using them, here are a few tips for using Luna Beads in general:

Tips for Using Luna Beads

-When inserting the beads, lie down and relax, adding a small amount of water based lubricant to the tip of the beads (don’t use too much though since it will make them harder to hold in) and insert them gently, as you would a tampon, leaving the retrieval cord hanging out for easy removal.

-If you feel the original beads are too big, or you’re buying your first pair and are intimidated by inserting sex toys, try the Luna Beads Mini or Noir.

-If you’re a beginner to using Kegel balls, try wearing them at home first to see how long you can hold them in to avoid them falling out while in public. If you’re wearing them in public, start with the lighter beads, remember they’re in (as in be careful when you go to the restroom, etc.), and bring a plastic bag or container in case you need to take them out.

-If the beads keep falling out quickly, try lighter beads, or even just one bead, and wear them as long as you can each day until your muscles get stronger and you can hold them in longer. You can also try doing other Kegel exercises to help you work up to wearing the beads by clenching and releasing your muscles for a few minutes each day. It’s especially effective to do this using a dildo or something to clench around.

Review: Mangasm Voyager

Since we’d never tried a prostate toy before, Jake and I were both intrigued when Mangasm contacted me about reviewing one of their products. Jake admitted that at first he was a little worried about what he was getting into and was expecting a large, curved toy, similar to some of my g-spot ones, so when the Mangasm arrived, he was surprised that the toy was actually pretty small. The box had instructions on the back, but the information wasn’t specific to the Voyager but instead more of a summary of how Mangasm prostate massagers work in general.

To find out more about how to use the toy, Jake looked on the Mangasm website, read all of the toy descriptions, and watched their demonstration videos. In most of the videos, the men pretty much just stick a Mangasm in their ass, jack off for a few minutes, and BOOM, ejaculation/intense orgasm. When he read the description of the Voyager, the website described the toy as “the largest and most aggressive model,” which seemed strange to both of us because it was no larger than Jake’s thumb. Still, we were anxious to give it a try since the website also claims the Voyager is for men looking for a “super intense male g spot orgasm.” We also checked out the Mangasm Edge, which is exactly the same toy but smaller, and the description claimed that it causes some men to orgasm without even touching their penises. Needless to say, we were excited to try it out.

The Voyager is straight or “bullet shaped” with a curved perineum tab for extra pressure on the prostate and a ring on the other side for easy removal. At the base of the toy is a cord that connects to the controller, where you can adjust the vibration gradually by sliding the button up or down. My immediate thoughts were that this toy may not hold up for long since pulling too hard on the cord or getting water inside it would probably ruin the toy. I was happy that it was made of smooth, ABS plastic, which is hygienic and non-porous.

The first few times we tried the Mangasm together, and it was easy to insert and use, but Jake said he didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary other than the vibration. We figured maybe we had the angle wrong or we just needed more practice since we’d never tried prostate toys before. He tried contracting and relaxing his sphincter muscles like the instructions said, but he still didn’t notice anything exceptional, and eventually he would get bored of it and want to just have sex instead.

Since we didn’t had any luck using it together, I told Jake his homework (tough huh?) was to masturbate with the Mangasm by himself a few times and report back. He tried it a few times, but each time had the same results; he said the vibration added a nice variation, but he still didn’t feel his prostate responding in the way the package and website described it should. I was about ready to give up on it and write a review since he’d already tried it about 6 times with no results.

Finally, I received a text from him saying, “It worked this time!” while I was out. As soon as I got home I flooded him with questions: “What did you do differently this time? What happened? What did it feel like? He explained that this time he sat down on the Mangasm, which put more pressure on his prostate, whereas the other times he was standing or lying down. Determined to make it work, he also leveraged it back and forth while he was contracting and relaxing his muscles while also lightly touching himself. He imagined how he usually stimulates my g-spot, and tried adjusting the Mangasm and playing around until he felt the right amount of pressure. After about 13-15 minutes, some cum dripped out in sync with his contractions, but he was still fully erect afterwards and felt he needed to cum a lot more. He reverted to masturbating in his normal, rougher way, and quickly reached a climax with his usual amount of cum.

I was intrigued when I heard this since I’ve never seen him ejaculate twice within such a short period before, and I asked him if I could watch. After putting on porn, stripping down, and lying on the floor in front of him, I told him to do what he did before, but this time I wouldn’t join him no matter what. I’m definitely a distraction to his usual routine (we’ve tried mutual masturbation but can never quite keep our hands off each other,) and I wanted to see the whole thing start to finish.

When he inserted the Mangasm, I could see the curved perineum massager resting where it’s designed to. I watched as he contracted and released his muscles, moved the toy up and down slightly (not in and out), and then touched himself. He kept this up, and after about 12 minutes some cum started trickling out as he contracted his muscles. It was odd watching it; it didn’t shoot out like in his usual ejaculation. Afterwards he stayed hard for a few minutes and kept masturbating harder with his hand until he came again, this time more intensely.

Afterwards, we talked more about what happened both times and read more about other’s experiences and realized that Jake had in fact had a prostate orgasm or “milked the prostate.” He did release seminal fluid without his typical hard stroking, and it did lead up to a normal orgasm. Still, it wasn’t the “hands-free orgasm” suggested, and something seems to be missing. He said the prostate orgasms didn’t feel as good as his usual ones, and he didn’t feel that they intensified his subsequent normal orgasms either. We’ve read a lot of other prostate toy reviews, and he didn’t get the same explosive results that other men describe. The main difference either of us noticed was that he produced ejaculate twice. I’ve also read reviews that say they use prostate toys during sex and that it’s amazing, but since the Voyager is straight and doesn’t have a bulbous shape at all, it wouldn’t stay in during sex when we tried it.

Overall, the Voyager did help Jake achieve prostate milking, but it didn’t quite live up to Jake’s expectations, especially in comparison to the Mangasm descriptions. He enjoyed the vibration but said the toy needed to be curved more, or be a little girthier, or a little longer, or have stronger vibrations…or maybe some combination of these aspects for it to stimulate his prostate better. While it was fun to use, it definitely didn’t cause him to have any life changing orgasms. When I asked him what his ultimate opinion on the toy was, he said basically it seemed difficult to use, and he couldn’t see any advantage over a finger other than the vibration.  If you want to try prostate exploration and milking, you could give the Voyager a shot, but don’t expect the immediate, explosive results promised or you’ll probably be disappointed, especially after dropping $72 on it.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Since the Voyager is made of non-porous ABS plastic, you can wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water and use either water based or silicone lubricant with it. The controller runs on 2 AA batteries, and as with any toy it will have a longer lifespan if you remove them in between uses. As I mentioned in the beginning of the review, the cord seems pretty delicate, so take care when washing and using it.

Review: Lelo Mia (And how I survived with one sex toy for a month!)

As I’ve mentioned on here before, I was in Barcelona during all of July. What I didn’t mention is that I only (gasp) brought one sex toy!

When I started packing, I knew I couldn’t bring many toys because I was very limited with space and weight and also needed to be discreet since I was staying with my family.

I ultimately decided to bring the Lelo Mia since it’s petite and resembles a lipstick more than a sex toy. Mia’s USB charging was also a big factor because I didn’t want to have to deal with bringing enough batteries or using a converter to charge my toy in another country. At first I considered packing a petite g-spot dildo as well, like the Lelo Ella, but I ended up deciding against it. As much as I love my g-spot and squirting, I knew that I wouldn’t have much privacy and would probably be too busy to have long masturbation sessions.

So that’s how I ended up in Spain for a month with only one sex toy, the Lelo Mia. As a habitual masturbator and Hitachi addict, it seems weird even to me that I didn’t masturbate very much on the trip. But since I was waking up at 7am every morning, trekking all over Barcelona and the surrounding area, taking two to four hours of Spanish class every day, sightseeing, socializing, and then taking care of my 9 year old sister for the last 2 weeks by myself, I really didn’t have the time, energy, or privacy to play as much as usual. When I did masturbate, it was usually in a few minutes of seclusion or free time, and it was more for relaxation and stress relief than anything.

Of course I already knew the Lelo Mia would  be able to get me off when I packed it (after all, what could be worse than bringing only one toy that I wasn’t sure about?) Although nothing compares to my favorite vibe, Mia is actually quite strong for such a small toy, and it can bring me to orgasm within minutes. The vibration is buzzier than I usually like, but it’s still strong enough to work for me.  Since I bought my Lelo Mia this January, it’s the new improved version (the previous Mia had weaker, buzzier, and less concentrated vibration.)

The Lelo Mia has three modes of pulsing vibration, but I don’t use them; I usually start at about medium strength and quickly increase to full power of steady vibration. It’s also very quiet, and one of my friends has even said that she has used it in public places (a bathroom stall etc.) without raising suspicion. According to the user manual, the Mia takes an hour to charge (although I’ve noticed it seems to take longer) and lasts for up to an hour and a half of play. Believe it or not, I didn’t charge the Mia the whole month I was in Spain, and it was fine, although it did die shortly after.

Mia is made of ASB plastic with silicone control buttons. To clean Mia, wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water, being careful not to get any water into the USB socket (Mia is NOT waterproof.) Since the buttons are made of silicone, you should only use a water based lubricant with Mia. Like all Lelo toys, the Mia comes with a one year warranty, 10 year quality guarantee, user manual, and satin storage case. My Mia is deep rose, but it also comes in black or petal (light) pink. Mia is also lockable for travel, meaning it won’t go off unintentionally in your luggage.

Overall, the Lelo Mia was a perfect clitoral vibe for my month long trip to Spain, and I definitely recommend it as a travel toy or a beginner’s clitoral vibe. It’s small, discreet, quiet, USB rechargeable, and decently strong. Unfortunately, I almost never use it when I’m not travelling. Compared to other battery powered toys or my Hitachi, Mia just can’t hang. The Mia definitely worked perfectly for my trip though, and I’m glad I didn’t bring any other larger toys since I had to move from one apartment in an extreme rush, and a couple of my relatives helped me pack all of my stuff. Mia was safely tucked away in my toiletries bag, but even if it was out it wouldn’t have been obvious. The Hitachi on the other hand…that would have taken some explaining.

Review: Lelo Luna Beads

pennysblog_lunabeadsOne of my sexual goals is to learn to squirt, so I invested in some Lelo Luna Beads to help exercise and strengthen my PC (pubococcygeus) muscles. Strong PC muscles aid in ejaculation, arousal, orgasm, lubrication, and help prevent various reproductive problems, so exercising them is important for everyone, regardless of whether or not squirting is a goal.

The Lelo Luna Beads are a weight-adjustable PC workout system. The Luna Beads System consists of a white silicone composition girdle that can hold either 1 or 2 of the 4 (36mm) beads included. The system comes with 2 petal pink 28g beads and 2 powder blue 37g beads (1 foundation bead with a retraction leash and 1 crown bead of each color.) The weight range of the system is 28-74 grams.

With the Luna Beads, you have the option of using either one foundation bead or a foundation bead and a crown bead together. I opted for using both pink 28g beads to start my workouts. To use the beads, insert the foundation bead in the side of the silicone girdle with a hole, and pull the retraction leash through the hole. Since the beads are pretty big (especially for use when not aroused), I lie down and use a little bit of water based lube on the tip of the crown bead to help slide them in. Only use a small amount though because if you use too much it make the beads slippery and difficult to hold in.

The beads should rest so that the foundation bead is at least 2 cm inside you, similar to how you wear a tampon–the retraction leash should hang out for easy removal. The Luna user manual suggests incorporating 30 minute daily Luna Bead sessions to achieve noticeable results. It also explains that the PC muscle workout occurs when you walk, swim, run, or move about with the beads in, which causes a subtle kinetic vibe as the beads move which stimulates the vaginal muscles. Even just standing works out the muscles because gravity causes the PC muscles to spontaneously contract as they try to keep the beads from sliding out.

I insert the Luna Beads during at home workouts. The manual warns that the beads may fall out quickly, but mine have stayed in fine for an hour or longer. Due to the size of the beads, I can definitely tell they’re inside me, but they aren’t uncomfortable. I can also feel them moving around and hitting my g-spot as I workout, and it feels good without being overly distracting.

The Luna Beads are made of ABS plastic and silicone, which are both hygienic, body safe materials. To properly clean the beads, take them apart and wash them with antibacterial soap and warm water or mild toy cleaner (no alcohol, petrol, or acetone) and pat dry with a lint free towel or cloth.  The Luna Beads come with a small white cloth bag for storage and travel. Like all Lelo toys, the Luna beads come with a 1 year warranty.

I recommend using the Lelo Luna Bead system for PC workouts because they are well made, hygienic, weight adjustable, and convenient. You can wear them while you workout, clean, walk, or whatever else, so they’re great for saving time by multi-tasking. The original Luna Beads are my fave, but If they seem like they’ll be too big, check out the Luna Beads Noir/Mini.

I received a free Evolved Anguilla Travel Vibe at a product knowledge seminar and was excited to try it out because I have been looking for a new petite waterproof toy for travel.  The Anguilla is a small pink 4.25” by 1” waterproof vibrator made of smooth body safe, non porous ABS plastic that is flat on one side and ridged on the other. The toy takes 1 AA battery, has 2 speeds, and is controlled by a push button at its base. The Anguilla comes in a cylindrical plastic package that is useful for storing or travel.

I tried the Anguilla in the shower with a silicone lube, and although I liked the way the smooth material felt against my clit, the vibration was too weak for my taste. I was disappointed by both the low and high speed and ended up finishing myself off with my fingers instead.

Although I didn’t enjoy this toy, I know from working at a sex store that every person’s sexual preferences differ, so someone else might enjoy this toy. If you are very sensitive and prefer a light tickle vibration, then you could give this toy a try. If you like moderate to strong vibration, don’t buy this toy because you will end up frustrated and dissatisfied. I would say that the light vibration on this toy would be more ideal for anal play, but since the toy is small and doesn’t have a flared base, it is not a safe choice to use for internal anal play.

If you do buy this toy, is it easy to maintain; you can use either soap and water or a mild toy cleaner (without alcohol) to wash it. It is both water based and silicone lube friendly. It is also waterproof, but make sure you screw the base on tightly before water play or cleaning. As with all Evolved toys, it comes with a 1 year warranty, so hold on to your receipt in case you need to send it back to Evolved for a replacement. As with all toys, be sure to clean it before and after each use and to remove the batteries.

Since this toy definitely didn’t fulfill my needs, my search for the perfect petite travel companion continues…

Review: Pipedream Mini Wanachi Massager

The Mini Wanachi is a cheap wand style clitoral vibe. The 8″ by 1″ toy has a flexible silicone head and plastic handle and operates with a twist on control at the base that gradually increases the strength of its vibrations from moderate to strong. At its lowest speed the vibration sound is pretty quiet but gets louder when you turn it all the way up, but it is still relatively quiet compared to a lot of other wand style vibes. The Mini Wanachi runs on 2 AA batteries, and if you take them out in between uses they last a very long time. The toy is also waterproof, and although many toys that claim to be waterproof actually aren’t, I would consider this one truly waterproof because I actually put it through my dishwasher (without soap) and it survived and has still worked over a year later. I wouldn’t recommend trying that though because I can’t vouch that it will always work (plus it isn’t necessary.) This toy comes in a variety of colors including black, white, blue, pink, and purple. The price varies depending on where you purchase it, mine was $24.99 at a toy boutique (it is cheaper online), but I would still consider that a steal considering how long it has lasted.

This toy is marketed as a “body massager”, but considering its small size it is actually more ideal as a clitoral vibrator. I like that it is strong enough that I can use it over my panties if I don’t have a lot of time or want to avoid getting messy, but it isn’t so strong that I feel like orgasming immediately (like with the Hitachi.) The toy doesn’t come with any programmed functions or pulsations, but I easily create my own by twisting the control back and forth from low to high rapidly or slowly.  This toy is also easily used during sex because of its long handle and flexible head.

Cleaning this toy is easy; I use soap and water, but you can use toy cleaner if you want (just make sure it doesn’t contain alcohol.) The package and toy details online both say the head is silicone, but it doesn’t feel the same as the high quality silicone on some of my other toys (such as Lelos). This doesn’t really bother me though me considering I only use this toy externally. Both of the Wanachi’s materials (silicone and ABS plastic) are phthalate free, body safe, and non porous.

I recommend the Mini Wanachi if you’re looking for a cheap clitoral toy because it’s inexpensive yet powerful and long-lasting. The petite toy is great for travel, and its hygienic materials make it low maintenance and easy to clean. As with any other toy, I recommend taking the batteries out in between uses to increase the life of the toy and the batteries. Since the toy’s head is made of silicone, only use water based lubes with it. Also, if you are going to use it in water, make sure the battery compartment is screwed on tightly.
