Review: Njoy Pure Plug (Large)

pennysblog_pureplug1I’m tempted to let this tweet stand for itself as my review…but since not everyone compares butt plugs to pizza, let’s talk about why the Njoy Pure Plugs rock.

Made of medical grade stainless steel that’s hand polished to a gorgeous shine, the Pure Plugs are created by Njoy, aka makers of the Pure Wand (one of my all time fave g-spotting dildos.)

The Pure Plugs come in three sizes,1 and I’m glad I got a Large because it’s actually not that big compared to some of my other plugs, and I love the sensation as it stretches my sphincter around its thickest part2, right before my butt sucks it in greedily. Since it’s so smooth, the Pure Plug is easy to insert with a little bit of lube and warm up and/or a (clit) vibe.

Even in hot Texas weather, the Pure Plug always seems to be cold, as if by some spell, and it feels exquisite going in. Though it’s not a huge toy, the Pure Plug’s hard, heavy steel feels incredibly intense as my muscles squeeze around it, but it’s still very comfortable, and its base rests nonchalantly between butt checks.

pennysblog_pureplug2When I want to have anal sex and get my butt in the mood, I warm up with Pure Plug.  When I had my first DP threesome experience, I whispered to Jake, go get me the Pure Plug. When my vagina is being moody, but I still want super intense orgasms, I use Pure Plug paired with a clitoral vibe.

I also enjoy the feeling of weight and fullness when wearing it during vaginal penetration, and it’s especially intense in doggy style, as my partner’s hips nudge on it with every thrust.

Other reasons the Pure Plug rocks: it’s super easy to clean/doesn’t retain butt smells3, you can use silicone lube with it4, you can use it for temperature play or predicament bondage5, and it’s perfect for taking selfies in.

Those of you who read my blog regularly are probably thinking, but what about Romp?! Don’t worry, my butt is non-monogamous. I don’t use Romp during vaginal penetration anymore (because both my best friend & a fellow blogger have had experiences with it getting sucked into their butts during sex), but Romp still has Pure Plug beat for casual wear. I’m not a big fan of wearing the Pure Plug while walking around/doing normal activities (though you definitely can if you want) because I find its weight distracting–I prefer it in purely sexual contexts.

Pure Plug, Eleven, & Pure Wand

The Pure Plug is butt magic. It’s smooth, heavy, and arousing.  It calls out to me in the night, communicating on some frequency only butts can understand. If you have a butt and you enjoy putting things in it, you need a Pure Plug in your life, like yesterday!

Next up on my Njoy wishlist: The Eleven, of course6. Most of my blogger friends are obsessed with it, and it’s already seduced me in photos.  Also, Pure Plug 2.0 because I love a challenge. And let’s be honest, I want the Pure Plug in Medium for comparison purposes, and the Pure Plug Small to wear as a necklace (as suggested by Greg, the genius of Njoy, when I met him recently at Woodhull.)

Thanks so much to SheVibe for sending me the Pure Plug in exchange for an honest review!

Review: Lovehoney Sensual Glass Plug

Lovehoney Sensual Glass Plug

Lovehoney Sensual Glass Plug

I thought I’d have no problem getting the Lovehoney Sensual Glass Plug in–with 3 insertable inches, it’s shorter than other things I’ve put in my butt, and although its 5.75″ circumference is a step up from the 5.25″ of the Ryder1, an extra half an inch didn’t seem like a huge deal. Boy was I wrong.

The Sensual Glass Plug is easy enough to insert at first, with a smooth, tapered tip…until I get to the widest part. Since the plug doesn’t taper back down like a lot of others do, my butt won’t suck it in, and it just floats there like a buoy. If Jake is around, I ask “IS IT IN?” and he says “yea…pretty much!” encouragingly. Except pretty much means it isn’t actually in, and it bobs right back out with a simple squeeze of my PC muscles or a shift to grab more lube.

Every time I tried to push the plug in past that point, the glass jabbed at my ass painfully. Still, I persevered.

I had faith in the power of my butt.

Ryder, Romp, Sensual Glass Plug, Atomic Rose Plug, Bootie

Ryder, Romp, Sensual Glass Plug, Atomic Rose Plug, Bootie

I tried warming up with smaller plugs. I tried Sassy2. I tried silicone. I tried mixing Sassy and silicone. I breathed deeply. I was one with my hole. I pampered my clit as I whispered sweet nothings to my butt. I tried warming up with cunnilingus and g-spot stimulation, and yet, I still couldn’t get it in.

I was about ready to give up and accept my butt hole failure, when I decided to try one last time. And when I used Bootie, Romp, baby Jesus, and Ryder, and it still wouldn’t go in, I got the idea of trying something else glass in my butt to get it used to the hardness. I grabbed my Icicles No. 21, put a condom over it, and used it to thrust gently until I felt Ready For The Plug.

And then something miraculous happened…I did it! The pride I felt in my butt was overwhelming. This must be what motherhood feels like, I thought. I immediately texted at least 3 friends: IT’S IN!!!

I finally warmed up my butt enough that the widest point didn’t hurt, and my butt sucked up that plug like a glass of sweet lemonade. And once it was in, it stayed in securely and felt delicious upon removal, especially since I synchronized it with an Eros orgasm.

Still, I can’t wear the Sensual Glass Plug around like I would others since I’m afraid it will hurt to take out if I leave it in too long. I also can’t use it during partner sex or with dildos because its hard glass fills me up, and I can barely get a finger in my vag when it’s in much less a penis.

And since anal thrusting actually warms me up for the plug and not vice versa, I probably won’t use it much unless I decide I want to move on to conquering even larger butt toys. Who knows, maybe someday this plug will seem like a tiny bloop on my ass’s radar. But until then, it has limited use for me.

pennysblog_sensualglassplugcomparison2

All the toys it took to get it in

The moral of the story here is that the Sensual Glass Plug is definitely not a beginner’s plug…and I’d hesitate to even call it an Intermediate plug. It doesn’t look that big, but because of its hardness and shape, it can be quite difficult to insert and can potentially cause a lot of pain.

But if you’re an Intermediate/Advanced anal player, the Lovehoney Sensual Glass plug is a great deal at only $30 for a high quality Pyrex plug, and since its base portion has some girth, it can be used to warm up the sphincter for larger toys. Since it’s glass it’s non-porous and hygienic, and you can use any type of lube with it. It also comes with a purple velvet drawstring storage bag.

Just beware– if your butt isn’t ready, the Sensual Glass Plug will quite literally be a pain in your ass.

*Thanks Lovehoney!

Review: Fun Factory B Balls

pennysblog_bballs

Fun Factory B Balls

If you read my reviews because you like thinking about me using sex toys and want to get turned on, just stop now. Because this review isn’t going to be sexy1

Basically, the B Balls are like a laxative for my butthole. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

If you read a lot of reviews you may remember Epiphora’s review of the Severin, in which she explains that the plug gives her the feeling of constantly having to poop. Well I get that same feeling using the B Balls… except they actually make me poop.

But first, let’s back track. What are the B Balls?

The B Balls are a cross between a butt plug and anal beads–they consist of two balls2 connected closely together, with a flared base. Inside the balls are weights that are supposed to jiggle around in your butt, similar to how Kegel balls move around inside of the vagina for subtle stimulation. They’re made of matte silicone and have ridges along the outside of each ball.

The B Balls are smaller than some of my other anal toys, and I can insert them fairly easily, but the ridges feel a little abrasive to me, even with plenty of lube. My butt definitely prefers materials like glass, wood, or smooth, seamless silicone.

Now for the (not so) fun part: wearing the B Balls. As soon as I put them in, I feel like I have to poop. Constantly. And often they actually make me poop. Sometimes I can’t keep them in for more than 5 minutes before I am taking them out and pooping…when I had no poop feeling before using them.

Ryder, B Balls, Romp, & Bootie

Ryder, B Balls, Romp, & Bootie

I do have a fast metabolism, but I’m not the Energizer bunny of poop, I swear. And I use plenty of other butt toys and this doesn’t happen. I know other people that have used the B Balls, and this doesn’t happen to them so maybe it’s just me, but something about the hardness of the balls and their shape and placement makes them the poop-whisperer to my butt.

When I’m sitting, the poop sensation is somewhat rectified3, but the balls still don’t really do anything for me. They’re not exciting to squeeze around, they just feel boring and mildly uncomfortable. As for the weights, they do feel kind of cool jiggling around in my butt when I move…but so do the Luna Beads, and they don’t make me feel like pooping.

Another thing that really bothers me about the B Balls is the ridges I mentioned earlier. Not only do they feel kind of irritating, they also collect lube, butt juices and…you guessed it, POOP. It makes them hard to clean, and it makes them retain butt smells like it’s their (night) job4.

I also tried inserting the B Balls vaginally before using them anally, but they’re not designed for that and felt awkward and uncomfortable. As for wearing the B Balls during partner sex or with dildos…I just can’t bring myself to do it. Feeling like I have to poop is about the least sexy sensation I can think of, so…no.

Fun Factory did come up with something new and potentially exciting: jiggle balls for butts. And to be fair, the B Balls are stimulating, but not in the way I want them to be. I know others who have enjoyed them, so they might work for you too, but all they do to me is make me poop. On the plus side, if I’m ever constipated…

If you do decide to get the B Balls, they’re available at SheVibe, Lovehoney US, & Lovehoney UK.

Thanks Fun Factory!

Review: NobEssence Romp

pennysblog_romp reviewThe Romp is my new favorite butt plug. It surpasses my other faves like the comfortable Bootie, the filling Ryder, and even my beautiful Crystal Delights plug. It’s truly as amazing as Epiphora made it sound in her review, which is what led me to trying it.

The Romp is my first wooden sex toy, and it’s made by NobEssence, a supplier of premium hand-sculpted organic wooden toys that’s been around since 2005. It comes in various wood types; mine is made of Yellow Heart, an exotic wood usually from Brazil. Like all NobEssenece toys, it’s hand finished and sealed with Lubrosity, a smooth, impermeable body-safe polymer coating. It’s 3.5 insertable inches long and 1.5” at its widest point.

I don’t really know how to describe the Romp’s shape, so I’ll just say that it’s perfect-for-butts. Its tip is easy to insert, and once I get past its widest point, my butt sucks it in, and it stays in place like that’s it’s job. It doesn’t require as much lube as silicone toys—a little bit of Sassy is perfect. I’ve tried it both ways but prefer wearing the Romp with the handle pointing up towards my back.

Once it’s in, the Romp is comfortable, but I’m definitely aware it’s there, and it’s fun to squeeze and clench around, and the handle is great for tugging on. Although I thought it might be weird to sit with, it doesn’t get in the way, even when I tried sitting on hard wood. Though it’s comfortable, I can definitely feel the handle between my cheeks when walking around, so I don’t think I’d wear it out in public.

The other way I use the Romp, during vaginal sex, is in a word, intense. Especially at first, the pressure and added stimulation from the Romp is like whoa, and I find myself wondering if it’s too much, but it’s not, and before long I’m used to it and it’s amazing. The Romp doesn’t poke Jake or get in the way during sex, and it doesn’t escape my butt even during mega-orgasms.

pennysblog_rompreview2I tried the Romp vaginally before using it as a butt plug, but the handle is too short, and I can’t really move it around to stimulate my g-spot. I think with a longer handle the shape would be promising, so I’d love to get my hands on the Intrigue at some point. I’ve read about people who like using the Romp as a kegel excerciser, so that’s also a possibility.

The Romp shouldn’t be boiled, but it can be easily cleaned and sterilized with non-abrasive soap and water and or a wipe down with a 10% bleach or alcohol solution. The wood doesn’t seem to retain butt smells (unlike silicone toys), which is awesome.

The Romp is so awesome that I literally had a nightmare that it got ruined because someone took sandpaper to it or something, and I was inconsolable, no joke. It was horrible. I wouldn’t wish a ruined Romp on anyone.

So, should you get the Romp? Yes, you should, ASAP. It’s a pricey toy, but it’s worth it. It’s gorgeous, comfortable, and its shape is amazing. If my nightmare had come true, and some sick, heartless person maliciously ruined my Romp, I’d buy another one stat. I kind of want to get another one with a different type of wood, but that seems excessive (plus, now I want to try all the NobEssence toys.) The Romp could be too big for anal beginners or too small for someone accustomed to much larger toys, but I’m having trouble imagining anyone not liking it.

Get the Romp at SheVibe or directly from NobEssence!

Thanks Burlesque ToyShop (now closed) for sending me the Holy Grail of butt plugs to review! See all of my photos and posts with the Romp here.

Review: Fun Factory Bootie

pennysblog_bootieMy butt trusts the Fun Factory Bootie. Unlike larger anal toys, which need to sweet talk my butt for a while, all the Bootie needs is a dab of Sassy, and my butt says, “Hey, come on in! Stay for a while!” like they’re old buddies.

The Bootie is a petite, 3″ long silicone butt plug with a thin neck, a curved bulbous shape, and a base that naturally rests between butt cheeks.

It’s my first curved plug, and when I was about to insert it the first time, I realized I wan’t sure which way it should go. My instincts told me to wear it curving up towards my g-spot, but after trying it both ways, I’ve discovered that my butt actually prefers it the opposite way.

At first I wondered if I was a weirdo for liking it this way, so I did some avid googling and found that people like wearing curved butt toys both ways, though it does seem that more people (including Epiphora, my go-to sex toy expert) like them curved up.

So far, the Bootie is my favorite plug to wear around for long periods of time. Its base is extremely comfortable and as soon as I insert it, I can’t help but squeeze my butt around it to enjoy its stimulating shape, which makes it feel like I’m giving myself a bootie massage, as cheesy as that sounds.

I’d even argue that it reminds me to exercise my PC muscles more so than my Luna Beads, so if you’re not a fan of vag balls (or even if you are), the Bootie could be a great alternative toy to wear as a reminder to do Kegels. Since it’s so small and comfortable, the Bootie does have the ability to camouflage itself into my butt after awhile, but I’m always still aware that it’s there, even if it’s subtle.

I also enjoy wearing the Bootie during sex, and although it’s small, its curved shape makes thrusting feel more intense than usual. It stays in place well most of the time—it’s only fallen out once, in “reverse cowgirl.”* I’ve also used it while masturbating with dildos, but that’s probably my least favorite way to use it, for whatever reason. (I don’t try to understand all of the mysteries of my butt.)

The only downside I can think of to the Bootie is that it is quite small, so if you’re looking for a medium or large plug or want a stronger feeling of fullness, then it’s probably not a good choice. Now that I know I like curved butt plugs, I am even more determined to get my hands on a Pure Plug soon.

Like all silicone toys, the Bootie is hygienic and non-porous and should only be used with water based lubricant. The downside of silicone is that it attracts dust, lint, and pet hair like crazy, and it’s harder to get rid of residual smells than glass or metal toys, so you may want to wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution and let it air dry and/or boil it (I do both for a thorough cleaning) in addition to the standard soap and water method.

The Fun Factory Bootie is a small, easy to insert comfortable yet gently stimulating butt plug. I highly recommend it for beginners to butt play or for anyone looking for a small, comfortable plug or a warm-up for bigger toys or anal sex.

*If there is a better name for this position (other than “crab sex“) someone please enlighten me.

Review: Tantus Ryder

The Ryder isn’t my first silicone butt plug, but it’s my first Tantus plug, which for me is a cause for celebration. Tantus is a respected manufacturer of 100% silicone sex toys, trusted even by sex bloggers’ high standards, and I’ve wanted to try one of their products for quite awhile now. When Vibrations Direct offered to send me a toy to review, I chose the Ryder because Epiphora, one of my favorite reviewers, raved that it’s a “sex toy staple,” and I’ve never come across a negative opinion about it.

So, is all of the hype true? Is the Ryder some sort of silicone butt miracle? After constantly sticking the thing in and out of my ass for the past 2 weeks, I can confidently tell you that it is definitely a wonderful plug, once you’re ready for it. I say once you’re ready for it because many sites describe the Ryder as perfect for beginners, which I don’t think is true, unless you have a very stretchy ass or you like a challenge.

I thought I would have no problem getting the Ryder in since I have anal sex, even though it’s the largest anal toy I’ve tried so far, with a 3” insertable length and 1.6” girth. Not surprisingly though, inserting an egg-shaped silicone plug that has some drag to it is a lot different than inserting a hard dick, and the first few times I used the Ryder took a lot of time and patience, starting first with fingers and foreplay and then moving on to inserting it with lots of lube and more patience and foreplay. Now that I’ve used it quite a few times, I can get it in faster, but I still need a good warm up.

Once I got the hang of the Ryder though, I began to enjoy its magic. Ryder’s slightly tapered egg shape and thinner neck makes it very comfortable once inserted, and it stays in place well, giving me a nice full sensation while masturbating, having sex, or just wearing it around for fun. The Ryder’s rectangular base is a godsend compared to other obtrusive round bases, and although I definitely know it’s in there when I’m wearing it, it isn’t obvious or obnoxious, and it doesn’t poke me when I sit.

My favorite way to use the Ryder is as a warm up for anal sex. The added time it takes for me to get the Ryder in is foreplay in itself, and once it’s in for awhile while Jake and I play around or have vaginal sex, my ass is more than ready to move on to something bigger. The Ryder’s longer body warms up my sphincter muscles much better than the quick “pop” of my other smaller and more bulbous shaped plugs. I also enjoy using the Ryder with a dildo, and it doesn’t get in the way even when using hard toys or fall out when I orgasm, unlike some other plugs.

Since it’s made of 100% silicone, the Ryder is non-porous and can be easily cleaned and sterilized, which is especially important for anal toys. I always wash it before and after use with antibacterial soap and water and give it a more thorough cleaning as needed. Silicone toys are notorious for their tendency to retain smells, and the best way I’ve found to get rid of this is by spraying it with a 10% bleach 90% water solution and letting it air out.* I’ve also tried boiling it for 10 minutes and running it through the dishwasher (top shelf, no soap,) which are both valid cleaning options, but they don’t work as well for eliminating odor. The Ryder’s silicone also attracts lint, dust, dirt, cat hair, and anything else around like crazy, so it requires a wipe down or rinse at the very least before use.

If you’re looking for a quality, comfortable medium butt plug or a fun toy for anal sex foreplay, then I wholeheartedly recommend the Tantus Ryder. It’s made of hygienic silicone, it’s comfortable, it provides a nice full feeling, and it’s a fun way to warm up for anal sex.  I wouldn’t recommend the Ryder for anal beginners though, and even if you’re not an anal beginner, I suggest lots of foreplay, relaxation, and thick lube, which are important for all anal play anyways.

*After using a bleach solution, wash the toy with soap and water and rinse well before use. You don’t want bleach or even  soap residue getting in or around your genitals.

Review: Crystal Delights Atomic Rose Plug

Update 12/18/2014: Crystal Delights doesn’t make the Atomic Rose Plug anymore, but they still make other similar plugs.

When I found out I won a Crystal Delights Atomic Rose Plug through Dangerous Lilly’s contest, I was beyond excited. Not only was it my first glass butt plug, but it was also a beautiful, handmade, clear pink glass plug complete with a vintage rose medallion from the Czech Republic (fancy, huh?)  I’m part Czech, so that only added to my feeling that it was meant to be mine, and I couldn’t wait to get the plug in the mail and wear it.

The Atomic Rose Plug came delicately wrapped in its protective black storage bag and was just as lovely as I expected. The website says it’s about 4” long, with 3.5 insertable inches and a 1.3” bulb, but mine is a little smaller (about 3.25” long/ 1.2” bulb,) which didn’t surprise me since I knew that Crystal Delights toys are hand blown and have slight variances.

My Atomic Rose Plug has had plenty of air time (figuratively speaking) since I received it; sometimes I wear it simply so Jake can admire its beauty in my ass, or while masturbating with a mirror so I can admire it myself, or as a warm-up for anal sex. It’s small enough for me to use comfortably and easily, but it’s still big enough that I can enjoy the sensation of inserting it and a feeling of fullness while I wear it. It stays in place well, and even though it moves outward when I orgasm, it hasn’t fallen out.

I love my Atomic Rose Plug as a pretty plug for play, and it works perfectly for that. What it doesn’t work as well for is casual wear, since it protrudes out of me quite obviously, and I can feel its circular base between my cheeks. I’ve tried to walk around with it in, and it’s cumbersome, although it’s actually not bad to sit in (on a soft surface,) but I don’t do it often. Still, that doesn’t really bother me as I love the toy for what is it—a high quality glass plug and luxurious anal accessory.

One advantage to glass toys is that you can use either water based or silicone lube with them, and I’ve tried it with both and like it either way. I’ve found that I don’t need a lot of lube with it since it’s so smooth and fairly small. Glass toys are also ideal for sensation play since they hold temperature well, although they should always be cooled and heated gradually with water to avoid harming the material.

Glass is non-porous, hygienic, and easy to clean, and I usually just wash it with antibacterial soap and water. The medallion portion does have texture and a grove around it, but it’s still easily cleaned with an old toothbrush. Since it’s glass, I do have to wash it more carefully than some of my other toys to avoid damaging it. It’s made of sturdy Pyrex, but it could still chip against the wrong material, which would ruin it and be a tragic waste (although if that ever happened I would probably display it somewhere as artwork.)

If you’re looking for a small, stunning piece of butt bling, I definitely recommend the Atomic Rose Plug or another Crystal Delights plug. If you need another reason to buy this toy (besides its general swankiness,) it’s also one of their various Colors Against Cancer toys. I hope to add some other Crystal Delights toys to my collection soon, specifically one of their original Swarovski Crystal Plugs, one of their Mini Twist Plugs, one of their Glass Dildos… okay who are we kidding, I want to try them all. If you decide you want one, please buy one through my link and help me save up for my next; I appreciate it!
