Topless Tanning

While these aren’t my best photos, since Jake took them on my camera phone in the blaring sun and couldn’t even see the screen, I’m still sharing them because they prove my first experience going topless at Barton Springs Pool!┬áThis wasn’t the first time I’ve hung out topless in Austin, but it was the first time I was surrounded by people!

When we got there and set our towels down at the top of the hill, I noticed a girl around us lying topless, so I figured I would go for it as well. I’ve wanted to do it for awhile but have been a little too nervous (I can be shy in person at times, believe it or not.) Whenever the lifeguards or new people arriving walked by I felt a little weird, like maybe I should cover up, but I resisted the urge. It was freeing, lying out without my bikini top tight around my neck and back, and also, no annoying tan lines!

After we’d been lying out for awhile and our skin was stinging to the point that it was time to jump into the heavenly 70 degrees water, I had to decide if I would put my top back on for the trek down the hill and into the pool or not. Why bother at this point? I thought. And I did it! It may seem like no big deal to those reading this, but it definitely feels more daring to walk down a hill crowded with people and jump into the pool in front of everyone, as opposed to merely resting topless in the less crowded area at the top of the hill.

So I wasn’t the only topless woman there. And I wasn’t even showing as much skin as a guy near us, who only wore a sock around his penis (props, dude!) But still, I’m proud of myself for going topless somewhere crowded in public for the first time. And I’m thankful I live in an awesome place like Austin that has a pool where it is completely acceptable to wear only a bikini bottom or a sock. Next stop, Hippie Hollow, y’all! :)

Sinful SundayI’m not sure if this counts as a Scavenger Hunt photo or not, since you’re allowed to be topless at Barton (as you technically are in all of Austin,) but since 90+% of people don’t do it/it’s not a naturist place, I thought I should ask. :)

    A sock!:)

Nice pics – and I’m familiar with that ambivalence about testing limits in public places. We have naturist beaches near here and I’m always careful to avoid affronting the unwary – sock or no sock:)

Go you! I remember the first time I went topless in public and debating whether or not to go for it but, after a while I managed to relax and just enjoy the sun licking over me. Looks like you were in a lovely, lovely spot, too. Jane xxx

Looks like a nice time out. One that I shall never experience not because of fear but because if I expose any skin to the sun for more than 5 minutes I burn and then get precancerous moles. You look like you had an awesome time though.

They are lovely photos!!! And yes I am surprised to hear you say you are shy (having seen lots of your previous posts)!!!
But isn’t it nice to feel the sun on all those bits that you don’t normally get the sun on. And even nicer when you know there are lots of other people close by.

Good for you. I love sunbathing naked and luckily we have a wonderful naturist club near us where that is possible, sadly we don’t often have the weather to match it

It IS freeing isn’t it? And so much fun. I especially loved the pictures as evidence. ;)

I don’t know if it counts as a scavenger hunt photo or not (I’m still new to the hunt.. lol) but I’d say it’s still one for the scrapbooks! Your first, ‘yeah… I’m fucking hot and I don’t care what you think, I’m going to show off anyway’ experience! Congrats!
