G Spoon (and an update)

Hey everyone! It’s been a while. I haven’t been blogging as much on here lately, and you may be wondering why. I want to try to explain…and hopefully find my way back to this corner of the internet more often.

Part of the reason I haven’t been sex blogging much lately is that last year I lost both my mom and my partner’s mom, and I went through a period of grief when I didn’t do much of anything other than try to support my family and get through the days. I didn’t talk about it on here at all or even on social media really because I didn’t feel comfortable doing so, but I did eventually write a little about it on my other blog.

When I was finally able to get back into writing and photography, I felt passionately about veganism and health, and I ended up starting a new blog to focus on lifestyle topics like cooking, cruelty free beauty, vintage fashion, travel, etc. It’s not that I don’t care about sex anymore (I do!), it’s just that I found myself going in a different direction, and it felt easier to start anew with a fresh blog. It felt difficult to pick back up with this blog full speed as if nothing happened. Also obviously my sexuality was impacted, and though I do feel more like my old self again, for months the only toy I used was my beloved Hitachi.

I’m still interested in sexuality and sex toys, but I’ve been feeling burnt out, particularly on things like reviews that I don’t feel as passionately about anymore. I still like trying new toys, but I’m not interested in trying new toys just to try them, I only want to try things I’m fairly confident that I’ll love, otherwise my writing will be lackluster, and the toy will end up wasting space in my closet.

I do miss the parts of this blog that were my favorite though, like my (often creepy) self portraits, artistic sex toy photography, and erotic stories (damn, it’s been a while.) I had a ton of fun earlier this year when Ely and I shot nudes of each other at Hippie Hollow. I miss hanging out with my babely sex blogger friends at conferences and having amazing adventures like making our own glass dildos.

I have some ideas on how to get my groove back on this blog and have ideas for crossover topics. For example, I’m thinking about writing about menstrual cups on my lifestyle blog, instead of this one, because I think it’d reach people that may know less about the topic than my readers over here. I also think it’d be cool to bring parts of my other blog over here, and I have ideas for that as well. I’ve already done some with my vegan safter sex barriers and sex toys posts.

I’m also thinking about doing a spooky/sexy photo every day during October, if I can get enough inspiration and content next month.

I’m glad I took a break–I needed it, but I miss y’all! Can anyone relate? If you’re a regular reader, what do you like most about my blog? Any ideas for me? Let me know in the comments!

Also–back to the title of this post–I bought this g-spoon when I saw Epiphora tweet about Fucking Sculptures closing up shop. 🙁 I’m glad I was able to get one before it was too late, and I love this photo I created of it.

Rinsing Off

pennysblog_showerjake

I didn’t think I would have time to take a new photo for Sinful Sunday this week, but luckily I caught Jake in the shower before he left for work…I got some sudsier ones as well, but I’ll save those for another time. 😉

PS- This was my first time using the external flash I had to buy for class, and if you know me you know I generally dislike flash. Flash you say? Yea who cares; Jake’s naked and wet. Yum.

Sinful Sunday

Four Years

Four years ago today, Jake and I met at Hoek’s Death Metal Pizza. My friend and I were at 6th Street for her birthday, and after a few shots she told me she hadn’t eaten all day. Hoping to avoid her getting sick, I suggested we get pizza before hitting any other spots, and the guy behind the bar recommended Hoek’s Pizza. We’d never been there before, but it was close, and that was all that mattered. When we arrived, Jake was working by himself and served us slices. Everything about him attracted me immediately; his strong arms beneath his white v-neck t-shirt, his curly blonde hair and black bandanna, but mostly his confident, self assured demeanor.

The next thing I knew, I was asking him if he had a girlfriend, and when he said no, I scribbled my name and number onto a big white napkin and slid it across the counter. Neither of us could have ever imagined that we would end up dating, falling in love, moving in together, and celebrating our fourth anniversary today. Jake later told me that he saw my friend and me walking past Hoek’s again later that night and thought I wasn’t actually interested since we were with other guys (they were just acquaintances of my friend that we ran into.) I was amazed that he actually texted me that night; I vividly remember lying in bed, wondering if I would see the cute pizza guy again.

Like anyone, Jake and I have been through amazing, blissful times as well as dark, difficult ones. But the best thing about our relationship, and the thing that matters most, is that we constantly become closer, we grow together, and our bond always gets stronger, even after the hard times. Before I get too mushy on yall, I’ll end with this—Jake is my best friend as well as the best lover I’ve ever had, and I’m so grateful that we met at Hoek’s four years ago.

And since it wouldn’t be Sinful Sunday without a little sin…

Here’s my ass on a Hoek’s Death Metal Pizza box 😉

Sinful Sunday

Music and Love, Forever.

This week’s Sinful Sunday is a competition based on the theme:

“If music be the food of love, play on.” ~ William Shakespeare

Music has always been an important part of Jake and I’s relationship. For one of our first dates, he took me out with his friends to see The Sword at Stubbs. We both love many different genres from Metal to Motown and constantly have music blasting in our apartment no matter what we’re doing.

Last year Jake wanted to get a pinup tattoo, and since I’ve done some pinup modeling and already had some images he liked, he decided to get a tattoo of me. Neither of us are into realistic portraits, so he had the artist draw up a Sailor Jerry version of an image of me as a pinup girl holding a record. Both of us love the way it turned it.

I love tattoos on guys, I love the vintage style pinup girl, and I love that it was inspired by me. Most of all, I love when his strong hands touch me, sometimes gently and sometimes roughly and passionately. And now when he’s busy between my legs, I get a glimpse of the tattoo, and it drives me crazy. Jake sure does know how to play me 🙂

I snapped this photo yesterday for Sinful Sunday intending to get his tattoo in the image, but I ended up with a bonus addition to the theme, since my tattoo is the Red Hot Chili Pepper symbol.

Working on the Deck

Today Jake was working on the deck on our balcony, and I couldn’t help but admire his skills, his tools, and of course his sexy ass hanging out of his Levi cutoffs.

I snapped this picture and a few others while he was working, and then got bored and tried on his tool belt. At some point he told me to stay on the balcony and hand him posts as he was working from ground level, but I was too busy taking pictures of myself and forgot about his instructions. Or maybe I ignored them, hoping for a spanking when he found me 😉

See who else is being sinful this Sunday here:

Purple Pleasure

Inspired by Lelo ads and artistic Pleasurists header photos, I decided to see if I could set up some of my own toys and make an image that is aesthetically pleasing and more artistic than overtly sexual. I think I did a pretty good job with my Lelo Luna Beads image before,  what do you think about this one?

*Thanks so much Molly for featuring my photo as one of the top 3 Sinful Sunday posts this week!*
